A New Eco System
This project was inspired by hiking clothing and nature and the intersection of where they meet. The garment is made of nylon, a synthetic polymer, which has been merged with rot. By using rotting oranges and different fruits i managed to create a texture on the nylon. I let the rotting fruits sit with the nylon for a month to see the growth of the rot on the synthetic material. By fusing these two worlds, the synthetic and natural, i created a new ecosystem of sorts, Testing the boundaries of where fashion meets nature. The garment itself consists of a big nylon jacket with a sleeping bag hidden inside, emerging when needed. A hydration pack embedded in the back of the jacket with three tubes climbing over the garment itself, imitating vines crawling up a tree, and two pairs of pants intertwined with each other as if growing together.
